Newspaper staff Union Plans Competitive Online Newspaper

The largest union at Philadelphia’s two biggest daily newspapers is planning to launch an online newspaper to compete with the company Web site if workers go on strike after midnight on Thursday 30, 2006.

The Newspaper Guild of Greater Philadelphia, represents the staffs of the Philadelphia Daily News and Philadelphia Inquirer.

Google launches operations in Gurgaon

New Delhi, Nov. 30: Internet major Google launched its online sales and operations in Gurgaon yesterday.

The new operations will showcase Google Hyderabad in managing advertiser campaigns across the world and provide support on all aspects of Google advertising, a company release said here.

45 cities to tune to FM by March

Wednesday, November 28, 2006: A total of 115 private FM radio stations will open in 45 cities within the first three months of 2007. The remaining 150 odd stations in FM Phase II will be operational by August 2007.

Zee Tele board to pay 100 pc dividend

India Today group to come out with English daily

 NOVEMBER 27, 2006:  NEW DELHI: The India Today group on Monday said it would launch an English language daily in the national capital early next year.

“We are working on it and the paper is expected to be launched some time early next year,” Group Chief Aroon Purie said on the sidelines of the India Economic Summit, organised by the World Economic Forum and CII.
